The first large-scale installation of AESOLAR’s DIBt-certified Horizon solar carport solution in Germany has now been successfully completed at Therme Bad Wörishofen, a well-known wellness and leisure destination in Bavaria. The project was delivered by AESOLAR’s trusted distributor Timeless, and the official opening ceremony took place last week beneath the expansive structure built with 3,120 Horizon modules.

Therme Bad Wörishofen inaugurated its new solar carport and integrated energy management system as part of its long-term strategy to strengthen on-site energy independence. The installation delivers a compelling showcase of how certified, reliable PV technology can support high-demand commercial facilities. Throughout the ceremony, the performance stability and German-engineered reliability of the Horizon modules were widely recognized, reinforcing the importance of trusted, bankable solar technology for mission-critical applications.

The project features a 1.34 MWp solar carport covering more than 300 parking spaces, creating one of the most visually striking and technologically advanced solar parking structures in the region. Energy generated on-site is supported by a 3.864 MWh battery storage system, enhancing operational resilience and enabling efficient load management across the facility. In addition, the system powers 28 EV charging points, supporting growing demand for electric mobility in southern Germany. The combined setup is projected to reduce more than 600,000 kg of CO₂ emissions annually, contributing directly to regional sustainability and climate goals.

The Therme Bad Wörishofen installation demonstrates how multifunctional infrastructure can deliver energy production, shading, EV charging, and operational resilience within a single integrated system. Horizon was engineered precisely for these applications, combining durability, hail resistance, overhead-glazing approval, and seamless architectural integration. As more municipalities, leisure centers, retail sites, and industrial facilities explore solar carport deployment, Horizon provides a mature, certified, and high-performance solution that meets European safety standards while delivering long-term value for owners and operators.
