February 25, 2025, BloombergNEF released its Q1 2025 Global Tier 1 Solar Module Manufacturer List, and AESOLAR is proud to announce our 16th inclusion in this prestigious ranking. This achievement underscores our position as a leading German solar innovator, celebrated for cutting-edge technology, reliability, and unwavering commitment to advancing the global energy transition.

The BNEF Tier 1 List remains one of the solar industry’s most authoritative benchmarks, rigorously evaluating manufacturer’ corporate strength, financial stability, and proven execution of large-scale projects. Financial institutions and developers worldwide rely on this ranking to identify bankable, high-quality partners.
This 16th Inclusion not only validates our technological expertise and robust project portfolio but also reinforces our role in driving sustainable energy adoption across diverse markets. From utility-scale solar plants to niche applications like floating solar and agrivoltaics, AESOLAR’s solutions are trusted in over 100 countries, delivering resilience and efficiency even in the harshest environments.

Notable threshold's changes
While AESOLAR previously achieved 15 consecutive Tier 1 rankings from 2021 to 2024, our 16th inclusion highlights adaptability in an increasingly competitive landscape. The solar industry is evolving rapidly, and AESOLAR’s ability to maintain its standing reflects our agility in meeting rising demands for innovation, scalability, and sustainability.
BloombergNEF boardcast its Tier 1 methodology changes of the coming list in the report, stating: “Due to the increasing size of the industry, the threshold for solar projects relevant to the solar module tier 1 list has been increased from 5MW to 10MW for the next list, in 2Q 2025. This is likely to result in a shorter tier 1 module list in 2Q 2025.”
Notably, this is the second time BloombergNEF has raised its project scale requirement in just over a year. Previously, in the first quarter of 2024, the threshold was increased from 1.5MW to 5MW, leading to a significant reduction in the number of companies included in the Tier 1 list—from 45 companies in Q4 2023 to 26 companies in Q1 2024. Despite this change, AESOLAR maintained its position, showcasing the company's strength and outstanding credibility once again.
